All TWAIN Data Sources and applications have a TWAIN Identity. This identity enables the TWAIN Data Source Manager (DSM) to keep track of all running TWAIN applications and Data Sources.

A TWAIN Identity consists of four strings:

ProductName,
ProductFamily,
Manufacturer and
VersionInfo.

These properties must be set prior to starting a TWAIN Session (OpenSession).
